Recent seasons of the Bachelor franchise have featured limited travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with both Matt James andKatie Thurston’s full seasons taking place in an isolated “bubble,” at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania and the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in New Mexico, respectively.Michelle Young’s Bachelorette season was also limited to a small selection of filming locations: She first met her suitors at a resort in California before filming in her hometown of Minneapolis and getting engaged to Nayte Olukoya in Punta de Mita, Mexico. Even the four “hometown” dates, a fixture of the franchise, were instead filmed in Young’s hometown, with her suitors’ relatives all traveling there instead of the other way around. ForClayton Echard’s recent Bachelor season, however, the show returned to its globe-trotting roots for the first time since 2019. In addition to traveling for actual hometown dates, the franchise filmed episodes in a total of five different locations, ranging from Canada to Croatia. So… where was Season 19 of The Bachelorette filmed? While the first episode of Gabby and Rachel’s season doesn’t air until Monday, July 11, 2022 on ABC, here’s everything we know so far about The Bachelorette filming locations for 2022.
Where is TheBachelorette filming for Gabby and Rachel’s Season 19?
While there’s typically at least one domestic scenery change before the cast flies to more far-flung locales, according to an Instagram video from spoiler guru Reality Steve, Gabby and Rachel’s Season 19 will head straight to Paris after filming the first three episodes in Los Angeles. If the two leading ladies visit do indeed visit the City of Lights, they’d be the first Bachelorettes to film in Europe since Hannah Brown’s 2019 season (that famed windmill was in Greece, after all). Since that spoiler came to light, Bachelor Nation executive producer Mike Fleiss has seemingly confirmed on Twitter that Gabby and Rachel are indeed in Paris. First, on April 6, he tweeted an “exclusive international photo” of Gabby and Rachel, although he didn’t disclose where they were exactly—but then later in an April 7 tweet, he showed the two ladies strolling near the Eiffel Tower (although he jokingly called it “the Space Needle”). A post shared by Steve Carbone (@realitysteve) On Easter Sunday 2022, Fleiss shared another snap that he called an “international” photo, but that at least one megafan pinpointed as looking very much like it was shot aboard a cruise ship (perhaps in international waters?).
Is The Bachelorette Season 19 with Gabby and Rachel filming right now?
Yes! Gabby and Rachel have already handed out their first roses. On March 26, Fleiss shared several snaps of the duo on set, sporting sparkly dresses for night one of the show, which was filmed at the iconic Bachelor mansion. “So great to be home, back at the mansion!!!” host Jesse Palmer, who starred on Season 5 of The Bachelor,” also wrote on Instagram before the limo introductions began. He also reportedly took to Instagram Stories after the big night, updating followers the next morning: “Alright, it’s about 7 a.m. and the longest night in television is officially over. Night 1 is in the books for Rachel and Gabby. Their journeys are officially underway! Can’t wait for you to see it.”
Will Gabby and Rachel’s Season 19 of The Bachelorette film hometown dates?
If Clayton’s season is any indication, Gabby and Rachel’s season will likely include real hometown dates instead of the “bubble” version featured on past mid-pandemic seasons.
Where is The Bachelorette’s Gabby Windey from?
Gabby, who was born and raised in O’Fallon, Illinois, according to Wikipedia, calls Denver, Colorado home. The ICU nurse and former Denver Broncos cheerleader, took Clayton to visit during hometown dates on The Bachelor. The pair went hiking near a spot conveniently labeled “Proposal Rock,” which perhaps she’ll be revisiting with a special someone after her time as the Bachelorette. As is somewhat of a tradition on The Bachelor, Windey’s family resonated with viewers and sparked plenty of supportive tweets. Fingers crossed we’ll get to see her Grandpa Joe, who stole the nation’s collective heart during hometowns and “After the Final Rose” on The Bachelor this season. While she couldn’t introduce Clayton to her father, whose longtime girlfriend was diagnosed with cancer, he made his own heartwarming appearance from afar, channeling Love Actually with a sweet set of handwritten cue cards for his daughter.
Where is The Bachelorette’s Rachel Recchia from?
Rachel is originally from Chicago but moved in her teen years with her family to Clermont, Florida. During her hometown date with Clayton, the pair met at a canoe rental and went swimming, despite Rachel’s earlier warning about the creatures that inhabit the area. Alligators and spiders aren’t the only parts of her Sunshine State hometown that might intimidate her new suitors, however. She warned Clayton of her father Tony, who she said had “never really liked anyone I’ve brought home.” He appeared again on the “After the Final Rose” special, where he got emotional over Rachel’s heartbreak, and will likely be featured on The Bachelorette as well.
