Still, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. As 2022 comes to an end, it’s time to celebrate the hits that got us through the year. From TikTok hits to Hollywood successes to your favorite artists’ new releases, these DJs have pulled together the most epic mashups of 2022’s best songs, which, for many listeners, are their favorite way to wrap up the year. DJ Adam Wright, whose annual mashups are so anticipated he creates theatrical trailers in the weeks before their release, used a whopping 113 titles to create his “2022 RENAISSANCE,” otherwise known as his year-end megamix. He combined tracks that hit it big on TikTok, like Tate McRae’s “she’s all i wanna be” and GAYLE’s “abcdefu,” with blockbuster singles like Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” and Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther—not to mention Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” which went number one this year thanks to Stranger Things—to produce the cinematic masterpiece.  “this absolutely sent me to a different dimension,” one comment on TikTok read. “I WANT THIS ON SPOTIFY !!!!!!!!!!” another demanded.  “I’m so happy there’s kpop in there and it truly shows 2022 renaissance and not just American music,” said a third.  “Dude…. I STILL listen to your 2016 summer mashup all the time for the past 6 years,” someone else proved his longevity.  The full playlist used by Wright is available on Spotify and Apple Music. DJ Earworm, a music producer, DJ and songwriter, is known for his annual “United States of Pop” mixes, an abbreviated version in comparison to many other year end mashups, clocking in at just under four minutes.  The musician artfully pulled together 25 hits from the year, including blockbusters like Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” as well as TikTok and television hits.  “For me, your mashup is always the first official sign that the year is coming to an end. Thank you for this little tradition! Have a great 2023 everyone!” one comment read.  “These never get old! Remeber [sic] hearing this all the way back to 2008-2009! Keep going dude!” said another.
