Super Bowl LVII is right around the corner and the tasty, crunchy popped-corn snack is being advertised at the high-profile event for the first time ever. The food brand will appear in a national television commercial set to air in-game during the February 12 broadcast. The very first PopCorners’ Super Bowl campaign is “reviving the most critically acclaimed TV show of all time, Breaking Bad, a decade after the final season and multiple franchise installments later,” per a press release shared directly with Parade. On Dec. 22, the brand released its first sneak peek teaser image of the upcoming promotion. The ambiguous image shows nothing but a dark shadowed figure wearing a hat with a button-up shirt, jacket, and slacks, holding a blue bag of White Cheddar-flavored PopCorners, and standing stiffly in the midst of western-themed desert scenery. The original American crime drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan—which starred Bryan Cranston (Walter White), Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman), Anna Gunn (Skyler White), Dean Norris (Hank Schrader), and Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman), among others—aired from 2008-2013, seeing five seasons and prompting spinoff, Better Call Saul. Fans will have to stay tuned to learn more about what’s to come in the campaign!
