“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” the exes said in a joint statement to PEOPLE. “We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together.” While they did not provide a reason for their split, they added, “There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary. We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.” Keep reading to find out everything we know about Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook’s relationship, including when they dated, when they got engaged and more.
When did Kaley Cuoco get married?
Cuoco tied the knot with Cook, her second husband, on June 30, 2018 at a horse ranch near San Diego, California. The locale was chosen out of the couple’s shared love of all things equestrian. (She even did some last-minute primping in the horse stable before the ceremony got underway!) Footage from the big day that was shared with Entertainment Tonight showed Cuoco being walked down the aisle while sporting a white, lace gown with a full cape. (She later changed into a lacy jumpsuit!) The couple’s pups also took part in the procession, as she’d promised in an interview that “every animal we have will be a part of it.” In his hilarious, handwritten vows, Cook had said, “I understand that you plucking my unibrow comes from a place of love.”
How did Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook meet?
The two have been together since 2016, when they started dating following Cuoco’s divorce from tennis pro Ryan Sweeting. Cuoco told Women’s Health that she met Cook at a horse show, and he had no idea who she was. “It was great because he never kissed my ass at all, and he never cared about any of that,” she said. “He loved that I loved horses. It became a big talking point for us.”
When did Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook get engaged?
Cook popped the question on Cuoco’s 32nd birthday on November 30, 2017. “Well after nearly two years I finally got up the courage to ask her to marry me," Cook wrote on Instagram alongside a video that showed Cuoco weeping from his proposal. “This is the best night of my life and I think the video shows it is the best night for Kaley as well… she said yes!”
What does Kaley Cuoco’s husband Karl Cook do?
Cook is a celebrity in his own right as a professional equestrian. In 2016, Cook and his horse Farrari won the blue ribbon in the SmartPak Grand Prix earning him $25,500, and in the UltrOz Jumper, taking home $15,000. He was on a hot streak in 2020, picking up top 10 finishes and wins across the country. He even finished 2020 with wins in the inaugural $100,000 Riders Cup Grand Prix and in the $100,000 Voltaire Grand Prix at Desert Holiday II. But Cook isn’t just about horses; he taps into his creative side as well. He once told Phelps Sports, “I enjoy photography and whenever I take a trip anywhere I usually take my camera with me. I am also into making bowls, cups, tables and many other things on a wood lathe. I call it ’lazy turning.’ Instead of having to move a carving tool around and carve into wood I just sit there and hold a tool under the wood as the machine turns the wood.” In addition, Cook hails from a wealthy family, which is the reason he’s got a net worth of $100 million. His father is ScottCook, the founder of Intuit, the tax software company that includes QuickBooks and TurboTax programs, and he’s worth $4.9 billion. Karl’s mother, Signe Ostby, is also an entrepreneur. She is the cofounder of Wisconsin School of Business’ Center for Brand and Product Management, and launched her own software startup in the 80s and later launched a marketing strategy consulting company. Cook appears to own his very own horse ranch called Pomponio Ranch, complete with these majestic stallions and tiny ponies.
Cook has multiple videos on Instagram where he walks and talks about all things equestrian. In an interview with The Chronicle of the Horse, he explained where the idea came from. “I just started it one day literally walking back from a class to the barn, and that’s where ‘Walking and Talking’ came from. It just happened organically. It was helpful for me [because it was] almost an outlet that forced me to think about what I was doing because I had to explain it, whereas if you’re just thinking about it in your own head you might not think about it the same way. I kept doing it because it was helping me, and I feel like it was helping other people.” View this post on Instagram

When did Karl Cook and Kaley Cuoco move in together?
While they have been a couple since 2016 and married since 2018, the couple lived apart until 2020. Cuoco once explained to E! News, “We have a very unconventional marriage, you know. We have different locations that we’re at a lot. We’re not together every single day.” All that changed in 2020 after the pandemic caused lockdowns across the world, so they finally moved in together. “This quarantine has actually forced us to move in together, it’s been great for our relationship,” Cuoco told Jimmy Kimmel in April 2020. “And we like each other, we realized! Which is even better.” Next, get all the details on the 2021 Golden Globes.
