In a new Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Nov. 2, the “Tattoo” singer, 32, reflected on her experience as a contestant on the show while revealing what drove her to join the cast for Season 31 in the first place. “The real reason why I decided to finally do @DancingWithTheStars…To do something that scared me,” Sparks wrote in her caption, while sharing that she had been asked to do the show before, but always found herself too scared—until this season. “Who would have known it would become something I would take so much pride in, be so proud of, and would become such a fulfilling experience all-around for me!” she continued. “And to think that I loved ballroom dancing so much I’ll continue lessons after the show…💃🏽💃🏽.” Sparks’ post featured multiple behind-the-scenes pics from the show, including a mirror selfie of the American Idol winner posing in one of her dance costumes. “Thank you to the entire cast and crew of #DWTS…. whether they’re fellow pro, wardrobe, hair and makeup, producers, troupe or those working tirelessly behind the scenes…you’ve been my family,” she added in the caption. “I adore all of you! Putting on a weekly live show is no easy feat and you guys make it look so easy.” The “Battlefield” vocalist also shared a selfie with her pro dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, while penning a sweet message to him in her caption. “MY B!!” she started the sweet message. “@BrandonArmstrong, who went from someone I would meet for the first time to my second brother I never had, you have pushed me and guided me immensely throughout this process. I truly appreciate you so much. You are the best dance partner, sh-talker, jumpy, superstitious, pop n lockin nerdy friend I could have asked for. You’re stuck with me now! 😂” She also made a point to shout out viewers of the show, especially those who voted for her to stay in the competition week after week. “Your support has meant the world to me, and it’s nothing I will ever take for granted 🫶🏽,” she wrote. While beginning to wrap up her post, Sparks made a point to mention her 4-year-old son, DJ, who she shares with husband Dana Isaiah. The songwriter was also sure to include a photo with her hubby in the post, as well as a pic of herself planting a kiss on her little one’s cheek during the show’s most recent episode. “Most of all, in the last pic, you’ll see what I’m most proud of: showing my little guy to go after things that scare you. It’s the only way to grow,” she stated. “Bringing him on set and showing him to challenge yourself is something I hope he will take with him. I love you and @_DanaIsaiah endlessly. 🤍🤍” Dancing with the Stars streams Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Disney+. More News:
