Alley, who was known for her breakout role as Rebecca Howe in the 1987 sitcom Cheers, passed away earlier today after a battle with cancer, according to a statement made by her family. Following the devastating update, John Travolta fondly recalled his time working alongside Alley, sharing a photo of the late actress and a candid picture of the two on Instagram, writing, “Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.” Fellow actress Jamie Lee Curtis also took to Instagram to share a photo of the two on the set of Scream Queens (2015). “I’ve just heard the sad news that Kirstie Alley has died. She was a great comic foil in @tvscreamqueens and a beautiful mama bear in her very real life. She helped me buy onesies for my family that year for Christmas. We agreed to disagree about some things but had a mutual respect and connection. Sad news,” she captioned the post. Longtime pal Kristin Chenoweth celebrated her years of friendship with Alley alongside a carousel of images on Instagram. “I love you, Kirstie. I will see you again someday. I can’t believe you’re gone,” she captioned the teary-eyed tribute. Carmen Electra also shared a few throwback photos of the late actress on Instagram, including a behind-the-scenes snap from the 2005 comedy Fat Actress, writing, “#rip to this kind, beautifully talented soul. we love you Kirstie 🤍🕊.” Musician Tito Puente Jr. took to Instagram to post a photo of the two with the caption, “Rest in peace Kirstie Alley.
