The intimate wedding in the remote and beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas took place almost two years after the couple announced their engagement in October 2019. James posted a selfie of him and Alizee (who is French) on Instagram with the caption, “Mr & Mrs Middleton ❤️ ???????? ???????? Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village or Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am ❤️” The mayor of Bormes-les-Mimosas told People that Duchess Kate andPrince Williamwere guests at the wedding, with Kate wearing a ““a long dress of a very light green color.” He estimated the number of guests to have been around 50—with the three Cambridge kids also in attendance! However, there’s no word yet as to whether Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte(6) or Prince Louis(3) played a role in the ceremony as they did in their aunt Pippa Middleton’s 2018 wedding (when George and Charlotte were pageboy and flowergirl respectively.) Pippa was also a guest at her brother’s wedding held the “idyllic hilltop village” where Alizee’s family have recently bought a house, as were Carole and Michael Middleton. Not to mention James and Alizee’s beloved dogs Luna and Mabel, who Mayor Irizzi said posed for photos with the bridge and groom outside the town hall. James and Alizée got engaged in 2019 after he got down on one knee in the Lake District with a ring that bears a striking similarity to his sister’s. Like the engagement ring that was passed fromPrincess Dianato the Duchess of Cambridge, Alizee’s ring is a large dark-blue sapphire with a border of diamonds. James broke the news by posting a picture on Instagram with the caption, “She said OUI.” They had to postpone their original wedding, which was planned for May 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The newlyweds recently purchased a new house in Berkshire, close to James’ parents’ home of Bucklebury Manor.
