(Photo by Pool/Samir Hussein/WireImage) Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will soon have a little sister to play with, but in honor of his own big day we’ve put together some of the best pictures from his life and times since he entered the world on May 6, 2019. This photocall at Windsor Castle marked Archie’s official introduction to the world, with his proud parents writing that they were “delighted to share their first public moment as a family.” Everyone was thrilled to see Harry’s newborn son in his arms as new mom Meghan looked on. Archie was only two days old at this point. Windsor Castle is also where his parents had wed in a glittering fairytale marriage less than a year before. Archie’s feet! This heart-melting pic was posted to the Sussexes’ now-defunct Instagram page in honor of Mother’s Day, and depicts Meghan cupping her new baby’s feet against a backdrop of purple flowers. It was her first of many Mother’s Days, and the post was accompanied by a quote of poet Nayyirah Waheed: “my mother was my first country; the first place i ever lived.” As if Archie couldn’t get any more adorable, here he is peeping over his dad’s hand in a picture that was posted on Father’s Day. Harry is wearing his wedding band of Welsh gold. A very royal christening! On July 6, 2019, Baby Sussex was officially christened Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and afterwards was photographed alongside members of his family: grandmother Doria Ragland; grandfather Prince Charles and stepmother Duchess Camilla; uncle Prince William and aunt Duchess Kate; and his great-aunts Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale (the late Princess Diana’s sisters.) At the time the identities of his godparents were kept a secret, but you can find out more about them here! The stunning lace gown that Archie wore for his baptism is a replica of the christening robe is a replica of that which was first used in 1841 for the christening of a royal baby, Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter. In 2004, Queen Elizabeth II commissioned her dressmaker Angela Kelly to create the replica, as the original gown had become too fragile for further use. The replica has since been used in the christenings of all royal babies, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. This picture of grandfather, son, and grandson—previously taken at Archie’s christening—was posted to mark Prince Charles birthday: “Sir, Pa, Grandpa!” “Arch meets Archie!” At only 4 months old, Archie was introduced to anti-apartheid hero Archbishop Desmond Tutu during Harry and Meghan’s tour of South Africa. This was Archie’s first-ever public appearance, and Meghan naturally seemed pretty besotted with her first child—at one point she was overheard describing him as an “old soul.” A kiss for Archie from Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
