What’s Her Pen Pal about?

Victoria (Mallory Jansen) is an elite wedding planner who has a tight-knit circle of friends, and she’s looking forward to being maid of honor at her best friend’s destination wedding in Paris. But when her ex, Cameron (Lachlan Nieboer), who is also the best man, announces that he’s bringing a date, Victoria is shocked and a little hurt. After reconnecting with her high school French pen pal, Jacques (Joshua Sasse), Victoria finds herself with a new plus-one for the wedding week. As they spend time together, it becomes obvious that Jacques and Victoria’s old puppy love might bloom into something more.

Who’s in the cast of Her Pen Pal?

Mallory Jansen (Victoria)

Victoria is not only the maid of honor in her best friend’s destination wedding in Paris, she’s also the wedding planner. While in the City of Lights, she reconnects with her high school pen pal, Jacques. Jansen, a native Australian, most recently starred in Hallmark Channel’s The 12th Date of Christmas opposite Tyler Hynes and is probably best recognized as the Life Model Decoy, AIDA, in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Her Pen Pal isn’t the first time Jansen and Sasse have worked together. Jansen and Sasse starred in the series, Galavant—as the dashing knight, Sir Gary Galavant, and the love of his life, Queen Madalena, respectively.

Joshua Sasse (Jacques)

Jacques is Victoria’s high school pen pal from French class who happens to own his own chateau just outside of Paris. The British-born Sasse is best known to U.S. audiences as the titular character from the ABC series, Galavant. His great-grandfather, William Berry, was the 1st Viscount Camrose.

Lachlan Nieboer (Cameron)

Cameron is Victoria’s ex-boyfriend and best man in the wedding. He surprises Victoria when she learns he’s bringing a “plus one” to the wedding. Hallmark fans might recognize the British Nieboer from his turn as King Nikolas in the 2018 Hallmark Channel movie Royal Hearts starring Cindy Busby, Andrew Cooper and James Brolin. He also played Lt. Edward Courtenay in Downtown Abbey and Count Antonio Rossi in Netflix’s The Princess Switch: Switched Again.

Jayne Wisener (Tracy)

Tracy is the indecisive bride-to-be and one of Victoria’s best friends. Wisener is an Irish actress who left the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama after one year when she landed the role of Johanna in the Tim Burton adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
