What is An Unexpected Christmas about?
Jamie (Tyler Hynes) travelshome a week before Christmas but he still hasn’t told his family he broke things off with his girlfriend Emily(Bethany Joy Lenz), whom they adore. When Emily arrives in town unexpectedly for work, Jamie offers her a deal—he’ll get the governor to deliver the Christmas Day address for her marketing campaign and in return, Emily will stay with his familyfor the week under the pretense she and Jamie are still together. What follows is a week of awkward fumbling and near misses as Jamie and Emily try desperately to keep their true relationship status a secret. Eventually, their ruse beginsto unravel and just when it seems like Christmas has been ruined, Jamie pulls out all the stops to make things right, resulting in a very unexpected Christmas. Bethany Joy Lenz (Emily)
Bethany Joy Lenz starred in last year’s Five Star Christmas. She has also starred in Snowed Inn and Bottled with Love, both with Andrew Walker and Just My Type opposite Brett Dalton. She recently performed with Laura Osnes, who also has a film premiering this weekend with Christmas in Tahoe.
Tyler Hynes (Jamie)
Tyler Hynes has quickly become a fan favorite since his first lead role in a Hallmark Channel film, Falling For You. Outside of Hallmark, Hynes has had roles on Letterkenny, Saving Hope and Rookie Blue.
Lynda Boyd (Diane)
Fans may recognize Linda Boyd from her recurring roles on Tin Star, Sanctuary or Republic of Doyle. Most recently, she had a recurring role as Lilly on Netflix’s Virgin River. Boyd also has a supporting role in Christmas in Tahoe which premieres on Sunday, Nov. 28 on Hallmark Channel.
Paul McGillion (Tom)
Probably best known for his role as Dr. Carson Beckett on Stargate: Atlantis, Paul McGillion has guest starred on The X-Files, Supernatural, When Calls the Heart and Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Most recently, he played Bud—Kate’s father—on Netflix’s Firefly Lane.
