After news broke of her death, Trump shared a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, via The Hill. Trump wrote: “I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.” “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!” he concluded. Paramedics reportedly responded to a 911 call of a woman in cardiac arrest. Police sources said she was “unconscious and unresponsive” at the bottom of the stairs. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the NYPD said. While initial reports suggest her death was from natural causes, no official cause of death has been revealed. She was 73 years old. ABC News reports that as Eric Trump was seen leaving his mother’s apartment building following her death, noting that it has been “a very sad day.” Ivana and Trump met in New York City in 1976 and married in April of the next year. At the time, Ivana was working as a model. After being married for over a decade, the two had a somewhat messy, very public divorce, but remained friendly in the years since. When asked by The Daily Front Row in 2016 about her friendship with Trump, Ivana said, “He is my best supporter, and Donald is doing great in his campaign. I think he would be a great president…He is one of the most dynamic people in the world. He looks presidential, and he talks presidential, and he would make the changes he promises. I wish him all the best.” Ivana ran her own successful businesses after divorcing Trump; she wrote several books, most notably the autobiography, Raising Trump, which was released in 2017.
