“We’ve seen the enthusiasm, the craving for people to return to our parks around the world,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in March during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Alley. “We’ve been operating at Walt Disney World for about nine months, and there certainly is no shortage of demand. “I think as people become vaccinated, they become a little bit more confident in the fact that they can travel, and, you know, stay COVID-free,” Chapek added. “Consumers trust Disney to do the right thing, and we’ve certainly proven that we can [open] responsibly, whether it’s temperature checks, masks, social distancing, [or] improved hygiene around the parks.” Before booking your trip to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, here is what you need to know!

Who can go to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park following the reopening?
According to California’s guidance for amusement parks and theme parks, only in-state visitors can book a trip to Disneyland until further notice. Guest party sizes can also not contain more than three households.
Can you buy your ticket to Disneyland the day of?
To manage park attendance, a reservation system will require guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Visitors will need the park reservation AND a valid ticket to enter the park. The reservations are limited and subject to availability.
Do you need to wear a mask at Disneyland?
Of course! Face coverings are required for all guests (ages 2 and older). The coverings must be made with at least two layers of breathable material and completely cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin. The coverings have to be secured with ties or ear loops, which allow guests to remain hands-free.
What type of coverings are not allowed?
Neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and coverings that have valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable. Disney “reserves the right to require a guest to leave if they are not properly wearing an approved face covering.”
When can you take off your face covering?
The coverings must be worn at all times in the parks except when guests are “actively eating or drinking.” Guests will not be allowed to eat or drink while waiting in line for rides or in attractions, only at designated dining areas.
Are there any other COVID-19 changes to Disneyland?
Aside from needing to wear a face covering and having to undergo temperature screenings with no-touch thermometers at some locations, guests sadly won’t be able to meet Mickey Mouse. That’s right, character meet-and-greets will be temporarily unavailable when the parks reopen. Parades and nighttime spectaculars will also return at a later date. Guests eager to get back on rides might be disappointed to learn that they won’t be able zip through lines with a FASTPASS. FASTPASS and Disney MaxPass services are currently suspended “as a result of the impact of COVID-19 on operations.” Disneyland Resort also noted that “Magic Morning and Extra Magic Hour offerings will be suspended upon reopening of our hotels and theme parks as we plan to manage capacity.”
What restaurants will be open at Disneyland?
Bengal Barbecue, Café Orleans French Market Restaurant, Galactic Grill, Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Jolly Holliday Bakery Café, Little Red Wagon, Market House Milk Stand, Mint Julep Bar, Plaza Inn, Red Rose Taverne, River Belle Terrace Ronto Roasters, Ship to Shore Marketplace Stage Door Café, The Tropical Hideaway, Toon-Up Treats and vending carts serving ice cream, popcorn, churros, beverages, snacks, and hot foods will be open for service on April 30, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Full-service spots will open with limited seating capacity for guests.
