“The role of the Critics Choice Awards in the entertainment world has grown exponentially over the past quarter century,” CCA CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement when this year’s CCA nominations were announced. “When the pandemic made us move our show date from its traditional kick off in January into the heart of the awards season, we felt the need to add a second stage in London to make sure that all our honorees would have the opportunity to participate in the live telecast. Two parties, two networks, two hosts - it’s going to be a heck of a night – on two continents!” To find out everything else you want to know about this year’s event—including who won, who hosted and more—read on to find out all about the 2022 Critics Choice Awards.

Who’s being honored at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards?
Every year, the Critics Choice Awards give out what they call the #SeeHer Award, which acknowledges a woman who pushes “boundaries on changing stereotypes” and acknowledges the “importance of authentic portrayals of women across the entertainment landscape.” In 2021, Zendaya was named the fifth #SeeHer recipient, following in the footsteps of Kristen Bell, Viola Davis, Gal Gadot and Claire Foy. The 2022 honoree? The trailblazing Halle Berry, who was the first (and still only) Black woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress. Meanwhile, this year’s Critics’ Choice Lifetime Achievement Award will go to comedic icon Billy Crystal, who’ll join the ranks of such previous recipients as Eddie Murphy,Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood and Lauren Bacall.
