On Sept. 28, Balmain premiered its Spring/Summer 2023 Womenswear collection, and while the clothes were beautiful and exciting to see, Cher sort of stole the show when she showed up on stage in a stunning metallic bodysuit. The latex suit, in a shiny black material with sharp shoulders and high boots, almost appeared like armor. The 76-year-old icon walked out and embraced Olivier Rousteing, a fashion designer and the creative director of Balmain since 2011. Then the two walked the runway together hand-in-hand to plenty of cheers from the audience. Afterwards, Cher wrote about the event on Twitter, complimenting the models and the fashion collection. She wrote: “JUST HAD BEST TIME, ON STAGE…FELT GREAT SHOW WAS PROBABLY BEST FASHION SHOW “EVER”MODELS WERE BEAUTY FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE.CLOTHES 2 DIE 4..OLIVIER 2 DIE 4 STAGE WAS CALLING ME cher…..oh cher….come Home….I HEAR YOU.” Based on her wording in the tweet, it also seems like Cher might be hinting at a return to music or another type of performance, referring to the stage as “home.” In her career, Cher has won an Emmy for Cher: The Farewell Tour, an Oscar for Moonstruck, and a handful of Grammys. She’s one award away from joining the elite group of people who have achieved EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) status, so maybe she’s planning a return to theater after 30 years? Cher’s only stage role was Sissy in the play Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean in 1982. Currently, a stage show all about Cher’s life, aptly titled The Cher Show, is preparing to launch in the U.K. after a run on Broadway. Recently, Cher also attended the premiere of Apple TV+’s new documentary, Sidney, about the late prolific actor and activist—and her friend—Sidney Poitier. More Pop Culture:
