Basically, deviled eggs refer to hard-boiled eggs that have been shelled, cut into half lengthwise and then filled with a mixture made with egg yolks along with other ingredients (which usually include mustard and mayonnaise). How Long to Boil Eggs

Start off by placing the uncooked eggs in a pot, and then cover them with enough cold water such that the water is at least an inch or two above the eggs. Bring the water to a full boil, before switching off the heat. Let the pot remain on the hot burner, cover it and then let the eggs cook for 10 to 12 minutes before removing them from the pot. Run cold water over the cooked eggs and then once cooled, you can peel them. Tip: The easiest way to peel them is to roll the cooked eggs gently but firmly over the countertop (with your palms pressing down), and the shell will crack in a few places. Once the shell is cracked, it’ll be easier to remove the shell.
